Here are the few things you’ll need to assemble it:
- Free printable calendar (you can snag it by filling out the form at the bottom of this post)
- Printer
- Personal paper trimmer (this helps you cut perfectly straight lines – I use mine ALL the time!)
- Mini clothespins
- Jute twine
Step 1: Print out the calendar
When you get the links to download your calendar, you’ll receive a link in there with basic printing instructions. You’ll want to set your printer to print front and back so that the Scriptures print on the back of the corresponding wreaths. This is super easy! 🙂
Step 2: Cut out the squares
Once you’ve printed the 4 pages, you’ll cut out each square (6 per page) using the faint gray lines I’ve included on the wreath side of the paper. Using the paper cutter with those gray lines makes it super easy to cut straight and make sure all of the squares are the same size. The lines are dark enough that you can see them to cut (just line up either end with the paper cutter – so simple), but they’re thin and light enough that you won’t see them at all once you make the cuts.
Step 3: Put dates in order
Once you make the cuts, put the dates in order.
Step 4: Hang jute rope where you want to display your calendar
Then hang up the jute rope on a shelf, mantel, or somewhere else in your house where you can display your wreath and easily reflect on the Scriptures each day.
Step 5: Use clothespins to hang calendar
Use the mini clothespins to hang the Advent calendar, and you’re done!
Step 6: Turn a wreath over each day and display the Scripture for that day
Turn a wreath over each day to read the Scripture for the day.
Enjoy the calendar with your family this season!

I need to update it for this year, anyway! When you subscribe, you should receive an email with the password to my resource library, and in my resource library you’ll be able to download it. But, I need to update it for 2020 first!
This is so adorable! Can’t wait to try it! Before I print – it says it’s for 2018., but I’m hoping to use this year and in the future?
Hi Emily! I have it on my to-do list to update the dates for this year! 🙂
Thank you for the Adve t printable. Anxious to try it.
I hope you love it! 🙂
I wanted to print the advent calander and when I go to print it just gives me the instruction page.
Hi Kim – if you’re accessing it from my Resource Library, make sure you’re clicking on the actual Advent calendar link. It’s the link above the printing instructions – the first link under “Christmas Printables.” I just clicked on it and it worked – when you click on it, the ONLY thing that should open is the Advent calendar. Hope that helps! 🙂
